This is a frivolous post dedicated to celebrating how AMAZING Aiba looks in high fashion <3 <3 <3
Let's start with the first Kizoku Tantei 5sec spots. I was soooooo happy when I saw him in what looked like a striking and fashion forward suit that I immediately hopped on google to see if I could ID what the suit was. I was delighted to find out it was DIOR HOMME (Spring/Summer 2017)!!! He just looks FAB and the suit is FAB and FASHUN – in both colourways.
So the next time I saw Aiba sporting some serious designer duds was when the previews of GOETHE magazine popped up on twitter. There was Aiba in DIOR HOMME (SS2017) once again! Stunning! And Gucc (SS2017)i!!!! The fit is amazing and he looks so polished in both looks I can't help but flail at both the fashion and Aiba. The styling for this shoot is A+.
The last two looks have only recently popped up in the last few days. I'm not sure what magazine they're from but I gushed at seeing Aiba in a straight-from-the-runway DIOR HOMME (SS2017) look! Aiba really needs to wear Dior more often, he really looks amazing in the more adventurous suiting they have on offer. As for the blue suit, it's gorgeous, but I'm not 100% on the designer. I think it's Louis Vuitton but will need higher res images to confirm the details. Regardless of who designed the suit, Aiba looks fab <3
None of these images are mine, weibo credits are on them. I pretty much pulled everything from twitter. The only thing I've done is the graphic over the top on them with the designer names.
I am desperately hoping to see more designer suits on Aiba in Kizoku Tantei, but unfortunately, I have a feeling that we'll be seeing more of him in those custom velvet numbers that border on being too costume-y :(

Hi!!! I'm finally have my Dreamwidth layout sorted! It took me so long!!!! Mostly cause I'm super fussy and kept changing things lol.
So, like most people, I've transferred my journal over to DW due to LJ's new non-transparent TOS. There's not a hell of a lot to say, not sure how much I'll end up posting here anyway, so I'm not entirely sure why I spent so much time on the layout. I blame not being able to stand the ugly standard templates that come with DW. Seriously, they're hideous and they hurt my design brain. A lot.
Ta for now xx

My favourite collection by far this NYFW was Proenza Schouler. I especially love the art influences and re-imagining of Christian Dior's famous bar-jacket. This was a vibrant and thoughtful collection which incorporated the label's penchant for craftsmanship and I would dearly love to have seen the fabrications up close in real life as this pair are known for making fabrics that aren't what they seem.
My favourite fashion writer of all time has a new job! One of the best things about his writing is that he makes fashion make sense to people who may not necessarily care about it. He manages to give it context in real-world terms and beyond fashion's insular world.
Here's a link to his brilliant first article for the publication: http://mobile.nytimes.com/2016/08/17/t-magazine/fashion/fashion-as-protest-french-incroyables.html?_r=1
This will be a short and lame post cause I just need to get my tennis feels out.
Massive congratulations to the amazing Juan Martin Del Potro for winning a tough first round match at the Olympics against world no. 1 Novak Djokovic. I'm truly happy for him though sad for Djoko. What a wonderful sport tennis is, SO many emotions right now.

Raf Simons has been named Chief Creative Officer of Calvin Klein. This news is no surprise to those following fashion as it was rumoured that Simons would take the reins at the label after the exit of Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli.
Personally, I'm super excited about this move. I was a huge fan of Raf at Christian Dior and I'm excited to see him design womenswear again. I think it's a good fit, Raf is renowed as a minimalist and I think he will bring a European sophistication to the American label.

I can't believe it's been 10 years since this film was released! It's one of my all time favs and still speaks to my fashion-girl heart after all these years.
My friends and I still quote this film all the time. I love every moment of this film and especially love all the clothes, I still wish I owned all the pieces in Andy and Emily's designer wardrobes.
Aside from the fabulous fashion, it's also a fantastic story about a girl making her way in the world, a theme that I was able to relate to as I was only at the beginning of my career at the time of it's release.
Happy 10 years to The Devil Wears Prada!
That's all.
I'm still trying to figure out how to use Dreamwidth, but I'm sure I'll get there. I have a Livejournal as well, you'll be able to find me there under the name RandomFashion. I don't post very often and if I do it's usually about one of my three loves - fashion, tennis or Arashi.
The worst kept secret in Fashion finally broke in the last 24 hours. While I was never the biggest fan of Hedi Slimane's work at Saint Laurent – I felt like much of it was lazy design – I can't help but feel a little bit disappointed that he's leaving. He had completely re-vamped the label into his own and is now leaving after such a short tenure. Where does that leave Yves Saint Laurent as a brand, will it continue in the rock & roll influence that Slimane had started? I guess that depends on who it's next Creative Director is.

Burton's collections for Alexander McQueen thus far have been a little hit or miss at times, but this Spring/Summer collection is one of her strongest. With references to iconic past collections, this was a perfect example of Burton designing Alexander McQueen through her own lense while capturing the essence of the house.
